Follow a classic Himalayan route from the Paro Valley towards Mount Jomolhari before crossing remote highlands towards Thimphu.

DAY 01 Paro to Shana Beginning the Himalayan Trail +
Begin the Jomolhari adventure from the Paro region and follow the trail away from the settled valley into increasingly peaceful terrain.
Walk through rural landscapes and forested surroundings before reaching the first trekking camp around Shana.
DAY 02 Shana to Thangthangka Forests, Rivers & Mountain Valleys +
Continue deeper into the mountains along forested trails following the valley and river systems towards Thangthangka.
The surroundings become increasingly remote as the trek moves closer to Bhutan's high Himalayas.
DAY 03 Thangthangka to Jangothang Approaching Mount Jomolhari +
Leave the forested valley and continue towards the open highlands as the surrounding Himalayan peaks become increasingly prominent.
Reach Jangothang, one of the signature locations of the trek, set beneath the magnificent mountain landscape of Jomolhari.
DAY 04 Jangothang Exploration Acclimatisation & Himalayan Scenery +
Spend the day around Jangothang, allowing time to acclimatise while exploring the surrounding mountain environment.
Depending on conditions, enjoy nearby walks and viewpoints with dramatic scenery across the Jomolhari region.
DAY 05 Jangothang to Lingzhi Across the High Mountains +
Leave Jangothang and continue into more demanding high-altitude terrain as the trail crosses remote mountain landscapes.
Traverse elevated sections before descending towards the Lingzhi area, surrounded by impressive Himalayan scenery.
DAY 06 Lingzhi Highland Journey Remote Valleys & Mountain Life +
Continue through the remote Lingzhi region, experiencing open valleys, traditional highland landscapes and mountain scenery.
This section provides a deeper sense of Bhutan's isolated Himalayan environment, far from the country's main settlements.
DAY 07 Highlands to Shodu Mountain Passes & Wilderness +
Continue across remote mountain terrain, following the trekking route towards Shodu.
Cross changing highland landscapes before reaching the campsite for another peaceful night in Bhutan's wilderness.
DAY 08 Shodu to Lower Valley Descending from the Highlands +
Begin descending from the higher mountain terrain as the surrounding vegetation gradually changes.
Follow river valleys and forested trails towards lower elevations while enjoying a different perspective of the landscape.
DAY 09 Final Wilderness Trek Towards the Thimphu Valley +
Continue through the lower mountain environment as the route gradually approaches the Thimphu side of the trek.
Enjoy the final full day on the trail, surrounded by forests and valleys before the journey reaches its concluding stage.
DAY 10 Complete Trek & Transfer to Thimphu End of the Jomolhari Adventure +
Complete the final section of the trail and leave the wilderness behind as the route reaches the road connection.
Meet your vehicle for the onward transfer to Thimphu and enjoy a well-earned rest after completing the Jomolhari journey.
